Dr. Belmont utilizes the most advanced methods and technology when treating her LASIK patients. This includes custom wavefront technology, which is used to create a "corneal map" that provides detailed measurements of the cornea's curvature; the map is used to guide the excimer laser, which reshapes the cornea in a gentle and precise manner. In addition to LASIK, Dr. Belmont offers other laser vision correction procedures such as PRK, and advanced surface ablation (ASA). Dr. Belmont meets with each patient individually to examine their specific visual needs and goals, and determine the appropriate option for laser vision correction.

More About Dr. Belmont
Sandra Belmont, MD, FACS, completed training in general ophthalmology as well as advanced fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery. She is the Director of the Resident Refractive Surgery / Laser Vision Correction Program and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Langone New York University School of Medicine. She served as Founding Director of the Laser Vision Correction Center at Weill Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital for 10 years following its creation in 1997. A member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, Dr. Belmont also directs a corneal fellowship program, where she has trained new cornea and refractive surgeons for the past 17 years. As a respected authority in refractive surgery, Dr. Belmont has been featured on the Today Show, ABC News, NBC, CBS, FOX, NY1 and The Discovery Channel, as well as in publications such as the New York Times, Time and Parade.
